MATTHEW QUIGLEY Postado Agosto 11, 2016 Share Postado Agosto 11, 2016 I showed her and my 12 year-old boy my airguns the other day. She was not too interested. However, when we go to Bass Pro, and she sees the pink Pumpmasters and pink Red Ryders, she is smitten. I feel like her liking the guns because their pink might not be enough. A few months ago, we visited a friend, who has a Red Ryder and some property. I helped her shoot it and she really loved it. So I'm thinking about it again now. Do I get her the smaller, pink Red Ryder? (and deal with BBs) or the Pumpmaster (and pellets?) I'll have to help her quite a lot; either pumping or cocking. I feel like the Pumpmaster is the better bet, or maybe even a CO2 pistol and paint the grips pink and cut down an accessory shoulder stock to fit her. I'm sure some of you guys have been there. Give me some pointers from your experience please! -Jeremy "If it's worth doing, it's worth OVERdoing." August 10 2016, 11:32 AM The fit, regardless of model, is pretty important in avoiding bad form/habits. Whatever you buy will probably have to be altered to fit. Awesome to see she's interested and good luck finding her something. Might be a gold medal in her future:) Respond to this message db(Login Diamondback)YC I used a 2300 (2240 pistol) turned into a mini carbine with red dot for my 4 to 5 yr old August 10 2016, 11:37 AM The crosman carbine stock was cut down & the rig was very light. Today, I would use an R Arms Innovations adjustable stock kit on it instead, no question! With a quick adjustment a child or adult could use the same rig & cheek rest is perfect. In fact, if you have a foot pump or tanks, a Prod, or 1720T, or 1701 tricked out the same way would be a great rig you could share. Maybe a 1377 or 1322 (or the custom shop version 1300t) tricked out the same way is a better choice for you? Use a TKO or Marmot Militia extension for noise (or use both). If she looses interest you still get a neat rig you can use. Don't forget some pink spray paint & decals I'd avoid bb's due to ricochet & alway have 'em use proper eye protection....you'd never forgive yourself. Right now I'm using a Crosman 760 in the "Pretty in pink" color choice. 5 shot magazine and a few pumps in between shots and she is a happy shooter. I use target balloons for her and a Red Dot sight. You can vary the balloon size to get their confidence up. She actually does pretty well. I bought a Raven for her as well. Break barrel makes for easy cocking, just I like the magazine on the 760. I'll give her an R7 in another year. She is a lefty. Respond to this message Jeff D(Login jcdx25)YC Maybe a couple years older but same quest. August 10 2016, 2:37 PM I went with crosman custom shop 22xx rifles. Got the better barrel etc. But could do the same with a pistol from a local store. Just pick up a crosman 1399 stock for 25 or so. That stock is really easy to shorten. Just cut out a section and pin/glue the pieces back together. Or cut off the back end and screw a different plate to it. (If you pin/glue the pieces back together just give yourself some time as you'll need use some bondo or the like to match the pieces) than paint anyway you like. I a few years you'll still have good pistol or rifle and another 25 will get you another full size stock I did this for 4 kids. Gave away or sold the cut stocks a few years ago and can't find the pics. Do something, this was GREAT fun with the kids. Edit... If you go this route, email me. I can help with the stocks I just checked an still have 2 uncut ones. jcdx25@aol.com This message has been edited by jcdx25 on Aug 10, 2016 2:44 PM Respond to this message Longbow(Login Longbow29)YF12 EYE PROTECTION!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE August 10 2016, 3:39 PM our enthusiasm to share the sport should never trump basic safety. Eye protection at the min especially with bbs. Cmon fellas. Respond to this message JohnM(Login FTJohn)AR&P My experience - August 10 2016, 7:01 PM When my grand daughter was almost 5, I started her with a Daisy "Buck" BB gun and a hundred 12" diameter party balloons. I cocked the gun, blew up the balloons, and threw them out in the yard. Got her a GOOD pair of safety glasses ($12) and turned her loose. Spent an hour blowing up the balloons and cocking the gun. Then another hour picking up popped balloons off the lawn. After she shot up the first pack of 100 balloons (a couple of weeks), I bought her another pack of 10" balloons and she bitched about them being too small and thought she would never hit them. Just kept stressing a sharp front sight and trigger control. Of course she did hit them so I moved to 8" and then 6". She would really get upset when I moved to a smaller size but it really didn't make a difference. She still hit them. Now, she's started college and still can outshoot most men even tho' she only shoots a couple of times a year. Those were good times. August 10 2016, 8:13 PM Safety first, I started mine with the Daisy Buck, had to cock it for them, then went to I think it was the 880's pumpers, they got bored with them cocking them up, they are shooting the full size daisy's right now, but tend to grab my 30+ year old one it is nice and smooooth. Then my oldest is on the HW 30 now and shoots it great. Lots of choices mentioned above to, Baby got to watch dad put a Weihrauch diopter on this Hw 77k with clear front iris......lol Jason G 4 Citar Minha mulher me deixa comprar todas as armas que posso esconder.
